This week’s reading mainly talked about how at the start of social media it was mainly just about getting users to onboard their platform and whichever platform had the greatest number of users would be the most popular and winning one. Nowadays, its mainly looked at for the business side of it. It is clear that majority of people go on social more then watch television these days so instead of media advertisers taking their ads to televisions commercials more and more businesses are moving to having their ads displayed on popular social media plat forms like Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Since this has started happening it has changed the way that platforms look at their consumers. Instead of Instagram for example knowing who everyone is that is signing up to be on their platform, they don't care about that as much as they care about finding out your likes and interest so that they can display those ads in your timeline page.
