Hands on Assignment 2

        To me personally, Media is really just anything type social network whether its a news website like CNN or a social app like Facebook. The reason that way is because i think media can really be anything that is displayed on the internet. I feel like most stuff posted on the internet are for content and viewer reactions. I feel like when it comes to social networking i look at social media platforms as business platforms instead of entertainment platforms. Social media can actually be a great place for social networking like instagram for example. On Instagram you can create a business account and pay to have your business page sponsored and promoted to lots of peoples pages. I currently use Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Youtube for social networking. I mainly use these sites for entertainment purposes like when i'm bored and i just want to watch funny videos, but from i'm always very observant of how people use these platform's for social networking and how they promote their products and businesses.

        I use these social media platforms pretty frequently, i would say everyday to be more specific. Definitely not all day but whenever i get some free time i like to just be entertained by funny videos or interesting social media posts. My favorite social media platform is probably Instagram. I just love being able to see how my friends and people i know are doing as well as watch funny or cool videos. I also feel like it is great to promote a product or business on and if i ever need to do that i will definitely do it through instagram. I'm completely content with instagram being my favorite social media, i just think that i need to not be on it as much and maybe use that time to do something more productive. Also i don't like how it makes it very easy for it to seem like everyone is living a perfectly lavish lifestyle with no problems whatsoever. Aside from that stuff it is definitely my favorite social media.

    Social Media is great for communication and advertising especially for businesses. Plenty of businesses have grown because of the advertisement on social media.

       This week’s reading mainly talked about how at the start of social media it was mainly just about getting users to onboard their platform and whichever platform had the greatest number of users would be the most popular and winning one. Nowadays, its mainly looked at for the business side of it. Assignment 3

       So for this assignment i chose to use instagram for my time diary considering the fact that i think i use instagram more than any other social media tool. I know that i go on instagram at least a couple times a day so i felt like this would be the best choice to select for my time diary. So my time on instagram for the last 4 days is this:  Friday, February 17 I averaged 52 minutes. Saturday, February 18 I averaged 52 minutes. Sunday, February 19 I averaged 20 minutes. Monday, February 20 I averaged 1 hour and 19 minutes. Which makes sense to me because on the weekends i'm usually pretty busy and don't really goo on my phone too much in general but on the week days i have a little bit more free time and can just hang out for a little. I only ever go on instagram on my iPhone. Im aware that you can go on it on your laptop or iPad but for me personally i just like to use it on my phone so that i can just use it wherever...
